How "Three's Company" came to be!
Carolyn and Teri met in 1990 while working at the Delta Chelsea Inn. Not realizing that they would one day form a company together, these two friends took very different paths over the next few years. Carolyn moved to Whistler, B.C. with Delta Hotels, then to the North-West Territories, where she worked as the personal chef for Max Ward, founder of Wardair Airlines. She also spent a couple of years in Prince Edward Island before returning to Toronto where she and Teri found themselves working together again, this time at Wayne Gretzky's, which Teri helped to open. Their paths crossed a few years later, while working at sister restaurants in Toronto's entertainment District. While Carolyn remained domestic, Teri took off for the bright lights of Hong Kong, where she spent three years opening a chain of Italian restaurants called Amorone. Tired of working for others, and needing the freedom and control of doing their own thing, they communicated long distance to start their own catering company. Teri arrived back in Canada in 2001 and Three's Company came to life. Working out of a variety of locales, in 2003 they launched their first store front location at 1331 Danforth Avenue. Finding themselves in the heart of one of the most amazing communites, friendships were formed that will be with them always. The hard work and struggles seem effortless only because of all of the support of friends, family and customers who helped make it possible to move to a bigger, and more centrally located venue. 673 Danforth is now the new site of Three's Company Catering. While looking more modern and in keeping with the times, it has always been very important to both Carolyn and Teri, to retain a sence of what they had created at 1331 Danforth and that was a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone. In December, 2008, Three's Comapny welcomed her newest edition to the fold...Three's Company...TOO!! Located at 1364 Danforth Avenue, and back in the heart of the "Old" neighborhood, is a neighborhood "Coffee House". Serving fresh baked goods, panini sandwiches and homemade soup and boasting it's raved about "Mountainview, Fair Trade, Organic, Shade Grown Coffee", Carolyn and Teri are hoping to relive the great times of the past and make a lot of new friends!!! |
